Kansas City Waterslide to be Demolished

Amusements parks are a great source of fun and entertainment for the whole family. On many summer days, they are a great way to beat the heat. Although amusement parks are subject to heavy regulations, freak accidents can happen causing serious injury to unsuspecting riders. When these accidents happen, our attorneys want to help you investigate whether the accident is a result of negligence of the amusement park. If you or your loved one has been involved in an accident or incident in the state of West Virginia, contact Colombo Law today.

In August a 10-year-old boy was fatally injured while riding the Verruckt waterslide in a Kansas City water park. This ride was talked about as the tallest waterslide known to exist, propelling riders down 17 stories on inner tubes. Unfortunately, Caleb Schwab’s life was taken too soon after something went wrong and he was ejected from his seat. After months of investigation, the waterslide is scheduled to be demolished shortly after the investigation concludes. While this is a big feat for the family who lost their loved one due to this tragic incident and could potentially save the lives of many, it cannot bring back an innocent life.

Wrongful Death Cases

Wrongful death lawsuits are civil actions brought against a negligent party or wrongdoer when a death results. These cases are different from other personal injury cases. If your loved one has been killed due to another’s negligence, we will work with you to identify the surviving family members who have standing to bring a wrongful death claim. Finding individuals with standing is a crucial first step of a claim and obtaining the relief that you and your loved one deserves.
