The Harrison County Sheriff’s Department responded to a vehicle accident near the 116 mile marker on Interstate 79 southbound just before 2 p.m. Thursday. 

Both southbound lanes are closed, according to the West Virginia Department of Transportation.

The collision involved a Blue Chevrolet Cruze and a Red Chevrolet Silverado truck.  The driver of the Cruze was transported to an area hospital with unknown injuries, according to deputies.  Their identities haven’t been released.

The Nutter Fort Fire Department and Anmoore EMS responded to the scene.
