This was a catastrophic tractor trailer collision on Interstate 79 just outside of Weston, West Virginia in Lewis County. The truck driver was driving far too fast in a rain storm on I79, lost control of the tractor trailer which jackknifed and slid sideways colliding with our client’s car that was sitting on the side of the road waiting for the rain to slow down. The client never saw the truck or the trailer coming at her. The client was killed instantly. The trucking company had only $1,000,000 in insurance coverage which does not even come close to compensating the family for this terrible loss. The client had only $25,000 of underinsured motorist coverage. This is another example of why it is so important to for people to purchase as much UIM coverage as they can afford.
