Mr. Colombo represented a Clarksburg resident who was disabled as a result of Cerebral Palsy. This gentleman had developed cerebral palsy as a young child and at the time of the incident in question was approximately 35 years old.
Mr. Colombo’s client was being cared for by a home health agency. This home health agency provides services to residents in Clarksburg, Fairmont, Morgantown and Buckhannon.
The claim against the home health agency involved an employee who put the patient with cerebral palsy in the bathtub and turned on the hot water. Unfortunately, the home health agency employee left the patient unattended and the scalding water burned the gentlemen’s feet. Mr. Colombo’s client was treated by physicians in the Clarksburg and Bridgeport area. He received treatment for 2nd degree burns on his feet.
A favorable out of court settlement was reached between Mr. Colombo’s client and the home health agency.
